Water tanks provide the storage capacity to contain water in your system until you are ready to use it. Hawkins Well and Pump services and installs water tanks for all types of water systems.
Pressurized tanks: To get water to flow out of your faucet, shower or hose, it must be under pressure. Pressurized water tanks, in combination with your pump, provide that pressure. These tanks contain a sealed bladder. As water fills the tank the bladder contracts, pressurizing the air already in the bladder. Opening a faucet allows the bladder to push the water through the system. These tanks provide storage capacity so the pump does not run every time a faucet is opened, only when the pressure in the tanks drops below a certain level, generally 30 or 40 psi. Pressure tanks come in a variety of sizes to fit the usage and application of your system.
Storage Tanks: Some systems have unique situations that require larger stores of water. For example, it might be needed for a property by the ocean with brackish water or for a low-producing well. This is where hydrostatic storage tanks come into use. These are large poly tanks that act as your water source. Water can either be pumped into the tank or delivered. Storage tanks like these do not provide pressure, just a storage source. Tanks like these will need an additional booster pump to operate.
